118th Year of Philippine Independence

The celebration took place at the historical Barasoain Church early morning of June 12, 2016 headed by the Provincial Government of Bulacan, City Government of Malolos, Department of Education, Philippine National Police, Veterans Association of the Philippines, Boy Scouts of the Philippines, Muslim Community, Rotary Clubs, Philippine Red Cross, Minority Groups and other non-government units. This year’s guest of honor was Senator Cynthia Villar who delivered a heart-felt, uplifting, and encouraging message and challenged every Filipino to battle the bondage of poverty by striving hard so as to enjoy all the basic necessities of life.
Governor Wilhelmino Sy-Alvarado and Mayor Christian Natividad also delivered their respective inspirational messages. The governor asked the Bulakenyos to support President-elect Rodrigo Duterte’s campaign for peace and order and to remain vigilant against any threat on the country’s sovereignty.
